Am achten Tag geht es flach dahin. Die zu bewältigenden 1700 Höhenmeter sind sanft über die 174 Kilometer lange Strecke verteilt. Bei Steigungen von nie mehr als 3,8 % müsste schon etwas Außergewöhnliches passieren, damit nicht die Sprinter in Laval um den Sieg kämpfen. Laval ist übrigens der Geburtsort des dreifachen Tour-de-France-Etappensiegers Jacky Durand. Und vielleicht gewinnt hier diesmal auch ein "Jacky": Der sprintstarke Brite Jake Stewart zählt jedenfalls zum erweiterten Favoritenkreis.
